The Transformational Work

I don’t think there is any way to adequately express my thoughts today…
I’m meditating on the truth and miracle of 2 Corinthians 5:17:

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

The song by Watermark titled All Things New focuses its lyrics around this great truth:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6zQsTMishQThe lyrics are included below:

Blue skies that take me back to being a child
Trees with leaves that turn the colors I love
A heart that’s beating to Your melodies ringing
And I am a miracle ’cause heaven is a part of me
And You are the song that I’m singing

VERSE:
I was created to love You
I was created to need You
I was created to know You
And I am a miracle ’cause heaven is a part of me
And You are the air that I’m breathin’

CHORUS:
Because of who You are and who I am in You
You make all things pure
Because of who You are and who I am in You
You make all things true
You make all things new

VERSE

CHORUS

And I’m so thankful for this life that I know
That I am no longer what I was
Because of Your love
And the beauty of the cross
I can see Your work in me
All things new
All things new in me
You make, all things new
All things new in me

Because of God’s magnificent work in and through Christ, all those who call on the name of Jesus will be saved. Believing in the perfection of His life here on earth, believing in the sufficiency of the sacrifice that He made on the cross to bear the penalty for all my sins–past, present, future, believing in the truth of His bodily resurrection, and believing in His ascension back to the Father in heaven makes me a new creation; something altogether different from how I was born: in sin and condemned to eternal death.

I hope that what I wrote above isn’t confusing. I’ve been going to church for a long time and can get caught speaking in terms that sound strange or odd. I’m amazed that God loved me enough to send His only Son to pay the debt that I owed in its entirety when He died on the cross. The hope that I have each day is that because Jesus rose from the dead after paying the debt of my sin is that because He lives I will live for all eternity. I live eternal life now because of what Jesus did. I am a new creation. All things in me have been made new.

I know I don’t adequately reflect the truth of that reality, but hopefully as I surrender to God’s purposes for my life I will reflect the truth of the reality that I am a new creation. All things new!
